About Zahava Friedman
Zahava has been making pots for about 25 years. Though the end results are (sometimes) beautiful, it is the process of making it that captured her soul. Clay entered Zahava's dreams after her first ceramics class at the Rhode Island School of Design age 13 and it never left. She earned a bachelors degree in art (with an emphasis in ceramics) at Guilford College in 2001. She's kept her hands in clay through continuing education classes, cooperative membership, and independent studies and has worked in a variety of pottery studios in the Northeast and Southwest. Zahava enjoys pushing the boundaries of clay to achieve unusual shapes and intricate cutouts. Zahava is part of a family of artists. She is pictured above with her grandfather, who has been painting for over 50 years.
